March 2003 Priority Express Buffing
If you weren’t at the March meet you missed some interesting tips on how to make your car shine.
Jon Boudreau of Autobahn gave us a demonstration of Dos and Don’ts for buffing your car… Preparation is the most important step – your car must be clean and free of wax, tar and debris. If you have pine pitch on your car the best way to remove it is a bit of RainX. To remove old wax he recommends dish soap.
Use a quality buffer – such as Black N Decker - and look for the buffing compounds at your local auto parts store. When buffing, keep an even pressure and don’t move the buffer in any sort of pattern – it will show up on your finish. Let the compound do the work for you and don’t press hard. Keep the buffer flat to the surface. For small, hard to reach areas, put compound on a paper towel and carefully work it in.
If you’d like to have Jon take care of the buffing for you, you can find him at Autobahn on Berard Drive in Burlington. Their number is 862-0486.
Looking for custom pin striping for your car? Jon recommends Kershner Signs on Myers Ct in Burlington. Their number is 802-864-4791.
Thank you to Peter Burke for some great pictures!
